Day 9 - Denali
This was our one day actually inside Denali National Park, for a Tundra Wilderness Bus Tour.
This was a fantastic tour! Our driver was a very well versed naturalist with a bit of a poetic philosopher bend, and we saw a nice variety of animals. We didn't actually see Denali mountain while in the park. That comes later...

We saw quite a bit of caribou

You may wonder how these are different than reindeer? Easy! Caribou are wild animals, reindeer are domesticated.

Bus driver saw them and stopped. They walked right by!

Mama and two cubs

Just out for a stroll on the road.

Once in the body of Alaska, every place is relative to these two cities.

It was a huge dinner, and complete covered by our meal certificates included in our Connoisseur Escorted-level cruisetour from Princess. Absolutely recommend; more than paid for itself!

About a month before our trip, Denali was closed due to a fire. Even fire burn scars are beautiful in Alaska!

This is the best shot of a few of these sheep we saw... generally as just white dots.
